• Board of Directors
  
  The Board thanked outgoing Directors Angie Gillies and Karen Black for their service in the preceding year. Welcome to the incoming volunteers, Larysa Robertson as the new Marketing Director and Sara Porter as the new Social Director. Thanks to all remaining volunteers for maintaining their positions on the Board.


• New Volunteers
  
  Many thanks to Samantha Wiebe who has volunteered to do pictures at the smaller shows and assist with write-ups after the shows to submit to Horse Country and other publications. Thanks also to Wendy Robinson and Donny Rudko for their ongoing comittment to assist the Board with interaction with MB Horse Council as they explore the possibility of improving the ground at Birds Hill Park in hopes of future utilization for our club. We were all happy to hear that Stephanie Gruhle will assist Sherry with Show Secretary activities this coming year. The Board expressed appreciation to Val Ward for filling in last year when Sherry was unable to run the smaller shows. Volunteerism is a critical component of survival for a small club like ours that continues to be active in many functions and all members are encouraged to offer their help when possible. The corollory is that assistance may need to be hired by the Association.


• 2013 Show Dates
  
  The Board has confirmed the dates for the Wheat City Derby and the 2013 Slide 'N Spin and Affiliate Finals. Please the the Show Calendar for details. Please also note that Slide 'N Spin will be extended to FOUR days this year due to increase in the growth of the classes. Details of other shows are yet to be confirmed.


• Finances
  
  The Board was able to report to the membership that the Association completed the year with a net gain in finances. Each of the shows lost money this year other than Slide 'N Spin which produced enough of a positive balance to offset the losses. When combined with funds raised from the Raffle along with stable membership fees, the Association was able to counter the reduction in sponsorship and still come out ahead. The Board made a point of stressing to the membership that without the support of activities such as the raffle, we would not be as solvent. Similarly, as sponsorship declines, financial viability can be threatened. It is incumbent on all members to support their Association by pursuing Sponsorship and participating in fundraising activities. Any members who would like to see the details of the associations finances are encouraged to contact Bonna Jean for particulars.


• Changes in Class Eligibilty
  
  Kim updated the membership on changes to eligibility criteria for NRHA classes. All members are encouraged to consult the NRHA site, review the NRHA and CCRHA Rule books and familiarize themselves with details. Any questions should be directed to Kim for clarification.
